Drive through the town sitting directly beneath Meteora’s enormous cliffs.
Continue through the traditional settlement of Kastraki. Drive its village streets and enjoy your first close views of the giant Meteora rocks.

Discover one of Meteora’s most atmospheric historical locations. Learn about the early hermits and ascetics who lived inside the rock cavities centuries before the monasteries were built on top of the cliffs.
Continue toward Vlachava and gradually leave the busy sightseeing circuit. This is where the route changes from conventional Meteora sightseeing into an off-road adventure.
Turn onto dirt roads and enter the quieter side of Meteora.
Follow the off-road route toward Ypapanti Monastery, hidden among the rocks and forest. Enjoy one of the most remote and peaceful locations of the experience. Access and the exact stop depend on weather, road and local conditions.
Continue through the extraordinary rock formations and forest landscapes inside the Meteora UNESCO Geopark. Enjoy the silence of the pure electric UTV as you travel through nature without the sound of a conventional engine.
Complete the buggy route and return your safety equipment.
Rejoin the coach and begin the return journey toward Athens.
During the return journey, use the onboard meal app to pre-order and prepay your optional dinner. Stop for approximately 45 minutes in the seaside town of Kamena Vourla. Meals and drinks are optional and not included.
Return to the original meeting point at Larissis Station. Return time is approximate and may vary due to traffic, weather and road conditions.

Around midday, arrive in Kalampaka.
This is where the conventional sightseeing experience ends — and your adventure begins.
Meet your local Meteora Off-Road Adventures guide and join a semi-private pure electric 4×4 buggy safari limited to a maximum of just 7 participants.
You will spend approximately 4 hours+ covering around 50 km, combining Meteora’s famous monastery roads with dirt tracks, forests and remote off-road routes.
Receive your safety equipment, including helmet and goggles when required, and take part in a full safety and vehicle briefing.
The electric UTVs are automatic and easy to drive, so no previous off-road driving experience is necessary.
Once everyone is comfortable, follow your professional guide along carefully selected guided routes.
Start with the Meteora everyone comes to see.
Drive through Kalampaka and the traditional old village of Kastraki, passing narrow streets and local houses beneath the enormous rock formations.
Continue along the famous Meteora monastery circuit.
Stop at carefully selected panoramic viewpoints, admire all 6 active monasteries from different angles and have the opportunity to visit inside 2 active monasteries, depending on daily opening schedules, accessibility and local conditions.
Then it is time to go beyond the monasteries and leave the main crowds behind.
Continue toward the atmospheric Hermit Caves of Badovas, where Meteora’s earliest hermits and ascetics lived in natural rock shelters centuries before the great monasteries were constructed high above the valley.
From there, head toward Vlachava and leave the busy asphalt sightseeing roads.
Turn onto dirt tracks leading deep into the quieter side of the Meteora UNESCO Geopark.
Drive your silent electric buggy through oak forests, remote trails and extraordinary rock landscapes.
Experience places where conventional large sightseeing buses simply cannot go.
Reach the hidden Monastery of Ypapanti, built directly into the rocks and approached from this direction by an off-road route.
Depending on access and local conditions, enjoy exterior viewing and the surrounding area before continuing deeper through Meteora’s extraordinary natural “stone forest.”

This is the side of Meteora that most day visitors never get to experience.
There is no scheduled lunch stop in Meteora, and this is intentional.
Your time at Meteora is limited, and we want to dedicate as much of it as possible to the full off-road adventure rather than spending valuable exploration time sitting in a restaurant.
Bring snacks with you if needed.
After completing your off-road loop, return to Kalampaka and rejoin the coach for Athens.
During the return journey, use the onboard app once again to browse the dinner menu, pre-order and prepay before reaching the seaside town of Kamena Vourla.
Enjoy approximately 45 minutes beside the sea for an optional dinner, dessert, coffee or drink. Because your order can be prepared in advance, you can spend less time waiting and more time enjoying the coastal stop.
Continue toward Athens and arrive back at approximately 10:30 PM.

WHY THERE IS NO LUNCH STOP IN METEORA
There is intentionally no scheduled restaurant lunch stop during the Meteora section.
This is an adventure-focused product.
Rather than reducing your 4-hour+ Meteora experience to spend an hour sitting in a restaurant, we use the available time to explore.

This experience is designed for adventurous travelers who want to make the most of one full day from Athens.
It is important to understand that this is not a short, passive sightseeing excursion.
The complete day lasts approximately 14.5 hours, from the 07:45 meeting time until the approximate 22:30 return to Athens.
The Meteora portion includes around 4 hours+ of outdoor driving, with both paved and dirt-road sections.

WHAT TO BRING

Dirt trails may be dusty, muddy or wet, and getting a little dirty is part of the adventure.

WEATHER & OFF-ROAD POLICY
The electric buggy portion is weather-dependent.
Adventure does not mean taking unnecessary risks.
If weather, mud, road conditions or another operational factor makes the buggy route unsuitable or unsafe, we may modify the off-road itinerary.
If conditions make it impossible to safely operate the buggy experience, your Meteora visit will continue by sightseeing minibus with a local guide instead.
You will still experience Meteora’s main monasteries, viewpoints and highlights.
A partial refund will be provided for the change from the electric buggy experience to the minibus sightseeing tour.
We will notify guests of significant operational changes whenever reasonably possible.

Off-roading Adventure!
Fantastic tour operator with a great guide! My friend and I both got to drive the buggy through the town to start and then spent the rest of the day off-roading through rivers, technical and simple terrain and through some tight rocks. Was such a cool experience! When our guide saw that we were both safe and competent drivers, he picked up the speed a little bit. He also let us take some drone shots! Would recommend!

Don’t Miss Seeing Meteora this way!
This was a GREAT experience. In perfect combination with seeing the Monasteries on the mountains. We saw 2 cave monasteries that were fascinating. The 60 km buggy tour through all of Meteora was spectacular. The views, the history and the fun of off roading in a buggy was fun and exhilarating. This was a perfect way to see all of Meteora. I highly recommend this tour!
